Regarding Summit Cabin Rentals and the Wildfires

As most of you know, this has been quite an unusual week for all of us here in the Smoky Mountains and particularly here at Summit Cabin Rentals. The wildfires and damages sustained from them have been a once-in-a-lifetime occurrence and because the level of emergency needed has been almost unprecedented in our generation in the Smokies, there are still more questions than answers.

The one question we can answer for you is that absolutely none of our properties at Summit Cabin Rentals have been negatively affected by the wildfires. None of our cabins have burnt down or sustained any damage. Likewise there has been no damage to anything belonging to our sister business, Smoky Mountain Jeep Rentals.

Another question we can answer for you relates to how many of you have written us asking “What can we do to help?” The answer there is, “Come back and vacation in the Smokies!” That’s the biggest thing our area needs now. All of our attractions in Pigeon Forge and Sevierville are still open and running back to business as it was before Monday. For better or worse, tourism is the literal lifeblood of the Smoky Mountains. Our reputation as a family-fun center in Appalachia has been built up through decades of hard work and smiling faces – a few days of wildfire isn’t going to take that away! What we need most now is YOU to come back and have fun in the mountains!

We remain in prayer with all who are affected by this natural disaster. Thank you for thinking of us and the Smoky Mountains at this time and we hope to see you again here soon!
