What are Things to do in Pigeon Forge?

Families are surprised at the many choices when they arrive to the Pigeon Forge area. There are so many things to do that it can be over whelming at times! Of course, the age of the family members and personal taste along with your vacation budget will determine your choices but we thought we would share some of our ideas of Fun Things to do in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

jrsaThe Old Mill (74)1. The Old Mill Historic District
Located in the center of Pigeon Forge, on the Little Pigeon River, a trip to The Old Mill Historic District will not disappoint. The area is appropriate for all ages with something for everyone to enjoy through their many shops and restaurants. The Mill itself is a must see. The General Store at the Old Mill is one of our favorite locations in town. Find The Old Mill Restaurant and The Pottery House Cafe along with Ice Cream and a Candy Shop also. Did we mention moonshine? Yep that too!

2. Metcalf Bottoms
Enter the National Park through Wears Valley, Tennessee. Wears Valley is the area between Pigeon Forge and Townsend and it offers a great way in to the National Park. At Metcalf Bottoms you will find family picnic areas along with areas where you can enjoy the water and take a walk in the National Park. Continue on to Little River Road which leads to Cades Cove or Gatlinburg! If you want to see it in style – rent a Smoky Mountain Jeep Rental!

Located at The Island just off the Parkway in Pigeon Forge is the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel. The views of Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Sevierville and the Mountains are simply unbelievable! The fountain area at The Island is great for people watching and there are many shops and restaurants to continue to entertain!
