fireworks during new years eve gatlinburg space needle
December 27, 2016

Hello and welcome to the last week for 2016! We’re sure you have some strong feelings about this year as we all do, but we’re ending the year and beginning the next with a BANG here in the Smokies and we wanted to let you know where we’re celebrating it this year.

Pigeon Forge:
The New Year’s Eve celebration is at The Island just off the parkway in the middle of town. Their atmosphere is already full of fun and amusement, but things really ramp up around 8:00PM as they have live entertainment going on, additional amusements around the Island premises and then, as it gets closer to midnight, the ball begins to drop. Once it strikes 2017, fireworks light up the night sky and we transition from year to year with the same aforementioned bang followed by many other ones. It’s a great time to be in the Smokies!

Gatlinburg:
Gatlinburg celebrates the New Year in much the same way, but they’ve been doing it first for decades and all the action centers around the Space Needle in middle of downtown Gatlinburg. Their entertainment begins at 10:00PM near Stoplight #8 (that’s Airport Road with Bubba Gump Shrimp) and the ball drop and fireworks begin at, you guessed it, close to and then midnight. The fireworks go off for over 15 minutes and it is an incredible sight to see.

We hope we get to see you in the Smokies for 2017! www.summitcabinrentals.com.
