As most of you know, last year’s Christmas in the Smokies was quite a wild, emotional, and very different sort of holiday than we see in our area. Pretty much the entire holiday, and Winterfest itself for that matter, was impacted by the Smoky Mountain Wildfires of 2016 that started just before the month of December began. This meant that the Gatlinburg Christmas parade was cancelled and the mood for the usual Winterfest holiday cheer was vastly different for the other activities we had going on.
This year marks the first true return to Winterfest in the Smokies and those of you who missed out on the parades last year will find the doubled time between them makes them all the more special and poignant. We definitely want to get our fill of parade fun this year to make up for last and we’re sure you want to as well. In this article, we’ll showcase all the nearby Christmas parades you should be aware of.
