Planning on being in the Smoky Mountains in the spring? There are so many fun events happening during this time of year! From festivals to car shows, there is something for everyone! Check out these 5 events to watch out for during springtime the Smoky Mountains:

1. Dollywood’s Flower and Food Festival

Dollywood hosts an awesome spring event called the Flower and Food Festival. At this festival you’ll be able to enjoy incredible works of art made entirely from plants! There are butterflies, black bears, and a huge sculpture of Dolly’s mother making the coat of many colors. Walk under an umbrella sky on Showstreet, check out the chalk artist, and even let your kids make their own chalk art. If you love food, you have to try all of the amazing dishes the Dollywood chefs create for this festival. You’ll find blueberry lemon waffles, lobster rolls, and a variety of fruity drinks. People of all ages will enjoy this event!

2. Blooms and Tunes at Anakeesta

anakeesta gardensBlooms and Tunes is a new annual festival at Anakeesta that features art installations, live music, and delicious food. You’ll want to take pictures with the 20-foot-long daisy, and taste all kinds of amazing food at the restaurants. Don’t miss the live music Thursdays through Sundays during this event. Plus, you’ll still be able to enjoy all the other fun things to do at Anakeesta!

3. Mountain Quiltfest

The Mountain Quiltfest celebrates the art and heritage of quilting in the Smoky Mountains. The city of Pigeon Forge hosts this popular festival in which over 20,000 visitors participate in many classes and seminars, and view some of the most gorgeous quilts in the country. More than 60 classes are held during Quiltfest and a vendor mall will be onsite for enthusiasts to purchase supplies. If you love crafts or want to start a new hobby, you don’t want to miss this event!

4. Spring Rod Run

rod runThe Spring Rod Run is one of the biggest spring events you will find in the area. People drive from all over the country to set up along the Pigeon Forge Parkway and enjoy looking at classic cars. The first Rod Run of the year means the whole Pigeon Forge Parkway turns into an automotive festival for car aficionados and professionals alike. Some of the coolest cars you will ever see gather in the city, and it’s the closest thing to a city-wide party Pigeon Forge has throughout the year.

5. Smoky Mountain Wine Weekend

Gatlinburg’s Smoky Mountain Wine Weekend takes place in downtown Gatlinburg along the Gatlinburg Wine Trail and then Arrowmont in downtown Gatlinburg. You get to sample local wine flavors, enjoy hors d’oeuvres, and then get a chance to see the best in Gatlinburg art by local artists! You’ll get to meet the artists themselves for a more engaging experience in the cultural side of the Tennessee Smoky Mountains.
